Soda Springs, Idaho is a small community in Southeastern Idaho that has a rich, historical past. Oregon Trail emigrants stopped to enjoy the special water of the local springs. These early travelers to Idaho said one spring tasted like lager beer and another like soda water. Many made themselves a carbonated drink by mixing sugar with the water. You can too and experience what a soft drink might have tasted like 150 years ago. If that wasn’t enough to fascinate early travelers, Soda Springs also boasted the Tosoiba Geyser that shoots over 100 feet into the air. Today Soda Springs is quite different and makes a nice scenic side trip off the Interstate.
