My guides and I feel that the best part of our job is meeting people and sharing the sights and history of our area with our guests. This is reflected in this small sampling of kind words we’ve received since 1987.

I’d highly recommend Mark Cook for a guide. He was highly knowledgeable in every facet of information for this area. I have had many guides and on a scale of one to ten, I would rate him a 10+++. I am confident you will concur with me after you use him.

Happy Traveling

I just want to thank you for your contribution to the success of the 1994 SEDA Annual Meeting. ...I think the “Town Tour” that you put together for our spouse/guest program went really well... I also want to extend special thanks for going above and beyond, in taking some of the members on their own special tours and so forth....

Redfish Lake Tour

Ask any local and they will tell you Redfish Lake is well worth the visit. This popular half day tour is an extension of the “Galena Summit Tour” that continues north into some of the most scenic and rugged country in America. Elk, deer, eagles and beaver are just some of the wildlife we may encounter. If we’re real lucky, we’ll see one of the moose browsing in the stream. After departing the summit, we’ll head north another 40 miles through the Central Idaho Rocky Mountains we’ve just enjoyed viewing from the overlook. Your guide will be providing you with plant and wildlife information, early exploration and mining history, colorful narration of local folklore and current environmental news so you are not just seeing the scenery, you will be experiencing it. Our destination is Redfish Lake, a clear nearly bottomless glacial lake situated at the foot of the Sawtooth Mountains and Wilderness Area. At this point, participants can choose to take to the water for an enchanting motorboat cruise around the lake, sun on the beach, visit the interpretive center or follow a path through the forest. Lunch, which is included in the tour, will also be served during this time of leisure (approx. two hours).

On the route back to Sun Valley, we’ll stop at the Sawtooth Fish Hatchery to view their steelhead, trout and salmon rearing operation. Duration: Six hours.
